JERMAINE KRAFTNER AND HORRIFIC CRIMES IN DORSET AND LONDON
A violent offender from Dorset has been sentenced to nine years in prison after committing a series of brutal crimes that included rape, false imprisonment, and assault, targeting two women in separate incidents.Jermaine Kraftner, age 27, originally from Poole Road in Branksome, Dorset, along with his cousin Corrie Pinney, aged 35, became the focus of a harrowing case after their actions came to light.
The crimes took place at Pinney’s residence in London, specifically at her flat, where the two men took turns assaulting the women in separate episodes of horrific abuse.
The sentencing occurred at Croydon Crown Court, where Recorder of Croydon, Judge Warwick McKinnon, delivered a stern verdict.
He expressed grave concerns about the offenders’ potential release in the future, stating, “I can’t predict if ever it will be safe for you to be let out of prison.” The judge condemned their actions, describing them as “a series of horrendous attacks” aimed at degrading and terrorizing their victims for their own sexual gratification and exertion of power.
Judge McKinnon emphasized the depraved nature of the assaults and noted that both offenders had demonstrated no remorse during the proceedings.
The court detailed the first attack, which targeted a 17-year-old girl in July 2009.
She was reportedly lured back to Pinney’s flat after a date with Pinney but was subjected to assault when she refused to engage in sexual activity.
Both men forcibly held her down and raped her, causing lasting trauma.
The second assault, which took place in April of the following year, involved a 22-year-old woman who endured a “degrading and humiliating” experience lasting approximately five hours.
During this ordeal, Kraftner and Pinney subjected her to torture, threats of violent acts, and verbal abuse.
They threatened to mutilate her by cutting her hair, drown her in boiling water, or even stab her with a Samurai sword.
The court heard that after a night of drinking alcohol and smoking cannabis at the Sutton flat, Kraftner, known among friends as “Striker” and “J,” flew into a jealous rage around midnight.
The victim was forced to stand on one leg in a corner as the two men humiliated and assaulted her, as described to the jury in June.
Court records indicated that during the trial, both offenders were found guilty on 14 counts, including false imprisonment, sexual assault, and one count of actual bodily harm (ABH).
Pinney alone was convicted of four counts of rape and one of attempted rape, leading to her own nine-year prison sentence.
The disturbing details of these cases underscore the severity of the crimes committed and the lack of remorse shown by the offenders, highlighting the importance of justice being served for their victims.
