JEREMY JACKSON FROM BINGLEY CAUGHT WITH CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN SHOCKING CASE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Bingley, Jeremy Jackson, a 46-year-old self-employed IT specialist, was found to have been accessing and storing indecent images of children over a period of nearly eight years. The revelation came during a court hearing at Bradford Crown Court, where Jackson faced serious allegations related to his private online activities.Jackson, who resides on Park Road in Bingley, was highly regarded in his community and had built a reputation based on numerous references and professional endorsements. Despite this outward appearance of respectability, he harbored a deeply troubling secret. His actions came to light after police executed a search warrant at his home on September 15, 2015, as part of an investigation led by the National Crime Agency.
During the raid, law enforcement officials discovered a significant collection of illegal images stored on Jackson’s computers. These images included photographs and videos of children aged between three and eleven, some of whom appeared to be in pain or distress. The material was categorized into different levels of seriousness, with approximately 350 indecent images and movies identified in total.
Prosecutor Frances Pencheon detailed that Jackson’s online activity involved searches with terms such as “paedo” and “pre teens,” indicating a disturbing curiosity and intent. Jackson admitted to police that he was “inquisitive,” a statement that was met with concern given the nature of the evidence found.
Throughout the proceedings, Jackson’s legal representative, barrister Kitty Taylor, emphasized that her client had sought help and counseling voluntarily even before admitting to the offences. She also pointed out that Jackson’s professional role as an IT expert meant he had the potential to access many more illicit images, yet he never shared any of the files with others.
Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC addressed Jackson directly, acknowledging his previously good character but condemning his concealment of a “very nasty secret or habit.” The judge sentenced Jackson to a three-year community order, which requires him to participate in the Sex Offender Treatment Programme and cooperate with probation services. Additionally, Jackson was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for five years and was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, aimed at preventing any further offending.
This case has left many in Bingley and beyond questioning the hidden depths of individuals who may outwardly appear respectable but conceal disturbing secrets beneath the surface.
