MAN JAILED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF THREE-YEAR-OLD
A man who sexually abused a three-year-old girl has been sentenced to four years in prison and will be on licence for an additional 18 months.Jean-Pierre Boisnier, aged 59 and of High Street, Ashford, admitted four charges of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
In court, it was revealed that the offender had previous convictions: in France in 1991, he was cautioned for exposing himself, and in 1998, he was convicted of a sexual assault on a female in a Jacuzzi.
During the trial, Boisnier’s defense argued that he was not a serial offender and that his wife was having an affair when the offenses emerged.
The judge emphasized the grave nature of the crimes and the trauma inflicted on the victim, stating, 'It is of very serious kind, and the defendant is highly culpable.
His attitude was of concern to an experienced probation officer.' The court noted that Boisnier displayed worrying impulsive sexual behavior and recognized that he needed help for his sexual deviation.
Boisnier was placed on the sex offenders’ register and prohibited from working with children.
The sentence was also intended to ensure he receives extended sex offender treatment due to his belief that he needs assistance.
Boisnier’s behavior caused significant harm, and the impact on the child victim was underscored by the judge.
