DEWSBURY SEX OFFENDER JAY GAIR BACK IN JAIL AFTER FAILING TO COMPLY WITH REGISTRATION
A man who sexually assaulted a female police officer was arrested when he failed to tell police where he was living.Jay Gair was jailed and ordered to sign the sex offender's register for seven years after smacking the PC's bottom while high on drink and drugs.
He has now been sent back to prison for failing to comply with the notification requirements.
He was admitted to Dewsbury and District Hospital's A&E department after downing a large amount of cider and 14 painkillers, following his arrest for rowing with his partner.
During this incident, he slapped a female officer as she helped him to a side cubicle.
He then took a dislike to a security guard, kicking him in the head and threatening to throw a chair at him.
Gair, formally of Beech Walk in Dewsbury, pleaded guilty to assault and sexual assault.
He was sentenced to six weeks in jail and will have to pay a £115 victim surcharge upon release.
In May, Kirklees magistrates heard that Gair was admitted to hospital after his arrest, and that he failed to tell police he was of no fixed address; he was released from prison in July and was sofa surfing with a friend.
Magistrates commented that he didn't fully understand the requirements of reporting his address to authorities.
