SWINDON MAN JASON SLIP CAUGHT IN PAEDOPHILE STING, FACES SENTENCING
In March 2021, a disturbing case emerged involving a man from Swindon who was caught in a paedophile hunter operation.The individual, identified as Jason Slip, aged 29, from Brean Road, Redhouse, was involved in a serious criminal matter that has garnered significant attention from local authorities and the community alike.
According to court records, Slip was charged with encouraging a minor to partake in sexual activity.
The incident came to light after a sting operation conducted by vigilant paedophile hunters, who had set up a decoy profile posing as a 14-year-old girl online.
It was through this online interaction that Slip engaged with the decoy, leading to his subsequent arrest and charges.
During his appearance before Swindon Magistrates’ Court, Slip pleaded guilty to the charge of inciting a child to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity.
The court proceedings revealed the nature of his communication with the decoy profile, which was part of an undercover operation aimed at catching individuals attempting to exploit minors.
Following his admission of guilt, Slip was granted bail but was ordered to return to court on 31 March for sentencing.
As part of the legal process, he was also instructed to attend Gablecross Police Station to register as a sex offender.
