JASON ROBSON FROM RAMSGATE SENTENCED TO EIGHT YEARS FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES AND ABUSE
In July 2023, a disturbing case involving a child sex offender from Ramsgate culminated in a significant legal outcome. Jason Robson, aged 47, who resides on Grummock Avenue in Ramsgate, was convicted of a series of heinous crimes committed against a young victim over a period spanning more than a decade.Between the years 2007 and 2018, Robson engaged in a pattern of severe and degrading treatment towards the child, inflicting both physical and emotional harm. His actions included terrifying acts such as holding a knife to the child's throat, a move that could have easily resulted in tragedy, and forcing the child's head into a toilet, an act that underscores the brutality of his conduct. Additionally, Robson pushed the victim down the stairs, further demonstrating the extent of his violence and cruelty.
Beyond these physical assaults, Robson also committed multiple sexual offences against the same child, adding a deeply disturbing layer to his crimes. His violence was not limited to physical abuse; he also punched and kicked the victim on numerous occasions, causing ongoing suffering and trauma.
The crimes came to light when they were reported to Kent Police in June 2020. Following the report, authorities swiftly moved to arrest Robson, who was taken into custody shortly thereafter. He was subsequently charged with a series of serious offences. Despite his denial of all allegations, the evidence presented at trial was compelling.
Robson faced a trial at Canterbury Crown Court, where he was found guilty of child cruelty and five separate child sex offences. The verdict marked a significant step in seeking justice for the victim and holding Robson accountable for his actions. On Tuesday, 18 July 2023, the court sentenced him to eight years in prison, a punishment reflecting the gravity of his crimes and the harm inflicted upon the young victim.
