JASON ROBINSON FROM STOCKTON SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IN TEESSIDE

In a case that has shocked the local community, Jason Robinson, a man from Stockton, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 15 years after being convicted of multiple serious sexual offenses involving a young girl. The crimes, which spanned several years from 2006 to 2010, involved grooming and abusing a 12-year-old girl he met through Facebook, a social media platform that has increasingly become a conduit for criminal activity involving minors.

During the trial at Teesside Crown Court, it was revealed that Robinson, aged 40 and residing on Auckland Way in Stockton, engaged in a series of sexual assaults and acts of sexual activity with the young girl. The court heard that Robinson had manipulated the victim, convincing her that revealing what he had done would lead others to think she was a prostitute, thereby instilling fear and silence in her. This manipulation was part of a broader pattern of grooming that lasted for several years.

The court proceedings also disclosed that the victim was compelled to testify against Robinson, a process that was undoubtedly traumatic for her. The judge presiding over the case, Howard Crowson, described the victim’s initial perception of their relationship as seemingly loving but later recognized as deeply toxic and 'poisonous.' Judge Crowson sentenced Robinson, who was present in court, emphasizing the severity of his crimes. He stated, “It is clear to me that a prison sentence will be hard for you to bear. It is also clear to me that you bear no remorse for what you did, you continually deny you did any wrong, but your family and the victim will have to bear the effects of what you did.”

Robinson’s defense attorney, Adrian Dent, expressed hope that the victim’s ongoing struggles would eventually lead to recovery, stating, “One can only hope that the problems that the victim has experienced reach some form of respite and recovery in due course.”

In addition to his prison sentence, Robinson was ordered to register as a sex offender for life and was disqualified from working with children, measures designed to protect the community from further harm.
