JASON LOWE OF WARRINGTON CAUGHT GROOMING CHILDREN ONLINE IN SHOCKING CASE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Warrington, Jason Lowe, a 35-year-old man with a seemingly respectable reputation, was exposed for engaging in online grooming activities targeting young girls.The incident came to light after a group of dedicated paedophile hunters managed to uncover his illicit communications, revealing a troubling double life that starkly contrasted his public image.
According to court records, Lowe, who resides on Landseer Avenue in Stockton Heath, began his inappropriate online behavior on December 14, 2019.
Despite his professional success as a highly regarded organist for various cathedrals across the North West, behind closed doors, he led a solitary and secretive existence.
During this period, Lowe created five separate social media accounts, which he used to initiate contact with minors.
These conversations were filled with lewd and sexual language, with Lowe persistently requesting explicit images from the children he contacted.
In one particularly disturbing exchange, Lowe falsely claimed to be 33 years old, prompting a minor to comment that this age was not that old.
Lowe responded with a chilling remark, stating, “yes but it is old when you fancy teenage girls.” He also openly admitted to a minor that he “really had a thing for young pretty girls,” revealing his disturbing preferences.
The court heard that Lowe continued his inappropriate communications into January and February of 2020, engaging in further explicit exchanges with minors.
The investigation revealed that Lowe’s online activities included attempts to contact a profile operated by a group of paedophile hunters, under the alias ‘affray 07’.
These hunters had set up fake profiles to lure potential offenders, and Lowe was caught attempting to initiate contact with one such profile.
During the conversation, Lowe referred to a girl as “pretty and beautiful” and made suggestive comments about sexual touching.
Once his activities were uncovered, authorities traced Lowe’s online presence and confronted him at his home.
The police, working alongside the paedophile hunter groups, collected substantial evidence, including devices that contained fragments of the conversations with the fake profile and images of young girls.
Following his arrest, police confiscated his devices, which confirmed his attempts to solicit sexual images and his explicit communications.
During the court proceedings, Lowe’s defense attorney, Carmel Wilde, described him as a “very well-educated man” and “extremely talented in the music industry.” She emphasized his respected position within society, highlighting the stark contrast between his public persona and his private actions.
Despite his apparent remorse, the judge, Judge Everett, delivered a stern verdict.
He acknowledged Lowe’s good character and societal standing but condemned his actions as a “bizarre and disgusting” betrayal of trust.
Judge Everett stated, “You are a man of good character with a good position within society.
Leading something of a double life.
Living a lonely and isolated existence.
Acting out bizarre and disgusting fantasies.” He further remarked on Lowe’s communication with minors, noting that Lowe explicitly told each of them what he wanted to do, although he did not send any images.
The judge described Lowe’s efforts as “a fairly determined effort over a substantial period of time.” As a result of his convictions, Lowe was sentenced to a nine-month suspended prison term and ordered to complete 35 days of rehabilitation.
Additionally, a sexual harm prevention order was imposed, and Lowe was mandated to be listed on the sexual offences register for ten years from the date of sentencing, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities and restrictions to protect the community from further harm.
