JASON LOVE: SCOTS GHOST HUNTER AND POLTERGEIST EXPERT FROM GLASGOW AND RENFREW JAILED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF THREE BOYS

In a disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Glasgow and Renfrew, Jason Love, a 43-year-old known for his work as a paranormal investigator and demonologist, has been sentenced to six years in prison for a series of heinous sexual offenses committed against three young boys. The crimes span over a decade, beginning in 1987 and continuing until 1999, with the victims targeted in various locations including Renfrew, Paisley, and the Cranhill area of Glasgow.

Love’s disturbing history of abuse began when one of his victims was only three years old. Over the years, his offending escalated in severity and frequency. One victim was assaulted while they were watching horror films together, a chilling detail that underscores the manipulative nature of Love’s predatory behavior. The other victims included a boy aged between five and seven, whom Love sexually abused at a residence in Paisley and later at a cemetery in Renfrew. The third victim was subjected to exposure and sexual simulation by Love when he was between 11 and 13 years old, with Love forcing the boy to perform a sex act on him.

Despite his reputation as a paranormal expert, Love’s true nature was revealed in court. He had built a career traveling internationally, giving lectures on poltergeists, demonic possession, witchcraft, and the occult. He advertised himself as someone who investigated supernatural phenomena, including poltergeist attacks and demonic activity. Additionally, Love worked as a psychiatric nurse, a position from which he was suspended in 2016 following the emergence of the allegations against him.

During the trial at the High Court in Edinburgh, Love denied all accusations, maintaining his innocence. However, the jury convicted him on five counts, including indecent assault and lewd conduct. The presiding judge, Lord Kinclaven, emphasized the gravity of the offenses, stating that “there is no alternative to a significant custodial sentence” and that “no other method of dealing with you is appropriate.” He acknowledged that Love was a first-time offender and noted that he had not committed any further offenses since 1999.

Lord Kinclaven highlighted the disturbing timeline of Love’s crimes, which began when the first victim was just three years old and continued into Love’s twenties. The judge also pointed out that Love’s offending extended into his teenage years and early adulthood, with the most serious acts occurring when he was 24. The court ordered Love to be placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely, reflecting the severity and ongoing risk associated with his crimes.

As Love was led away in handcuffs following the verdict, he showed no visible emotion. A woman who had been with him during the trial was overcome with emotion and burst into tears. The court has deferred sentencing to allow for further reports, but the conviction marks a significant and troubling chapter in the ongoing fight against sexual abuse by individuals in positions of trust and notoriety in Scotland.
