JASON CRESSWELL SENTENCED TO 16 YEARS IN PRISON FOR CHILD ABUSE IN WORCESTER
In a significant case that has shocked the Worcester community, Jason Cresswell, aged 43, from Turners Close, Blackpole, Worcester, has been handed down a 16-year prison sentence for heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of two young boys.The offences spanned a troubling period from 1998 to 2002, during which Cresswell committed multiple acts of abuse against the minors, both of whom were under the age of 16 at the time.
These disturbing incidents came to light after the victims, now adults, reported the abuse in February 2013.
The investigation that followed was extensive and meticulous, involving numerous hours of police work to gather evidence and build a case against Cresswell.
The senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Andrew Price, emphasized the importance of the victims' courage in coming forward, stating, “The victims, both adults now, reported the offences in February 2013 and we began a lengthy investigation, which took a huge amount of time and effort to get to the point where Cresswell has finally been brought to justice.” At Hereford Crown Court, Cresswell pleaded guilty in August 2014 to multiple charges related to the abuse.
His guilty plea and the subsequent sentencing reflect the gravity of his crimes and the justice served for the victims.
