JASON BEADLE FROM NORTHFLEET FACES JAIL AFTER ABUSING CHILD IN TILBURY, ESSEX

In a case that has marked a significant development in the handling of child abuse cases within Essex, Jason Beadle, a 34-year-old man from Northfleet, is now facing the possibility of imprisonment following his conviction for sexually abusing a young child in Tilbury. The incident took place over a period spanning from 2017 to 2018, during which Beadle allegedly committed multiple offences against the victim.

Beadle was taken into custody in October 2018 after the allegations surfaced, leading to his formal charging in September 2019. The charges included four counts of sexual assault of a child and two counts of assault by penetration. These serious accusations prompted a landmark legal process, as it was the first case in Essex where new police regulations were employed to facilitate the collection and presentation of evidence from vulnerable victims or witnesses.

These innovative measures allowed for the evidence to be pre-recorded at an earlier stage in the legal proceedings, thereby reducing the trauma experienced by victims who might otherwise be required to testify in person during a trial. This approach aims to preserve the victim’s account while minimizing the emotional distress associated with giving live evidence.

Throughout the trial at Basildon Crown Court, Beadle, who resides on Dover Road, maintained his innocence, denying all charges brought against him. Beadle is scheduled to be sentenced at the same court on Wednesday, May 12.
