NORTHUMBERLAND MAN ACCUSED OF DOWNLOADING AND SHARING HUNDREDS OF CHILD SEX ABUSE IMAGES
A man has appeared in court facing charges related to the possession and distribution of numerous child sexual abuse images.Jamie Styles is accused of having stored 549 disturbing photographs of minors on his mobile phone, which was confiscated from his residence in Morpeth, Northumberland.
Among these images, more than 100 are believed to be classified as category A, indicating the most severe type involving penetrative sexual acts.
The 60-year-old also faces allegations of sharing 56 of these images between April and July 2024.
Residing on Springhill Walk in Morpeth, Styles is additionally charged with possessing illegal animal pornography depicting a human with a chicken.
He is also accused of breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) by not revealing a USB memory stick and an SD card to authorities.
At South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court, it was stated that Styles is alleged to have downloaded the images between October 2021 and June 2024.
He appeared before the court on multiple charges, including making and distributing indecent images of children, possessing a prohibited child image, possessing extreme animal pornographic material, and violating his SHPO.
He did not enter any pleas and was remanded to Newcastle Crown Court.
He was released on unconditional bail until July 15.
