HULL CHILD GROOMER JAMIE REKEMEIER SENTENCED FOR ABUSE OF UNDERAGE GIRL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the Hull community, Jamie Rekemeier, aged 26, has been convicted and sentenced for a series of heinous crimes involving a vulnerable underage girl. The incidents took place in Hull, where Rekemeier exploited the girl’s youth and trust, subjecting her to a pattern of coercion and sexual abuse that spanned several weeks.
According to court proceedings, Rekemeier, who was in his late teens at the time, targeted the young girl, who was underage and clearly vulnerable.
The prosecution, led by Charlotte Baines, detailed how Rekemeier threatened to spread damaging lies about her unless she submitted to his demands for sexual acts.
The girl, reluctant and frightened, was coerced into performing a sexual act in a public place after Rekemeier became aggressive, warning her that he would tarnish her reputation if she refused.
Following this initial assault, Rekemeier walked her home, visibly upset and crying, and warned her not to tell anyone about what had transpired.
The court heard that approximately three weeks later, Rekemeier convinced the girl to engage in further sexual activity by manipulating her with false claims about his mental health.
He told her he suffered from a split personality disorder and implied that if he became angry, a persona named 'Darren' would emerge, which would allow him to physically and sexually assault women.
Under this threat, the girl reluctantly consented to further sexual acts, which included some extreme and disturbing sexual activities on multiple occasions.
The victim later reported the abuse to the police, revealing the emotional and psychological toll it had taken on her.
An extract from her victim impact statement described feelings of shame and humiliation, as well as ongoing trust issues and a fractured relationship with her family.
The trauma inflicted by Rekemeier’s actions has left lasting scars.
Rekemeier, of Redfern Close off Hessle Road in Hull, pleaded guilty to ten counts of sexual activity with a child in November of the previous year.
His sentencing took place at Hull Crown Court, where His Honour Judge Mark Bury sentenced him to four years in prison.
The judge acknowledged Rekemeier’s troubled background and mental health issues but emphasized that these factors did not diminish the severity of the harm caused.
In addition to his prison sentence, Rekemeier was ordered to be subject to a sexual harm prevention order and to register as a sex offender indefinitely.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of protecting vulnerable children from exploitation and the devastating consequences of such predatory behavior.
