JAMIE MCGILLIVRAY'S HORRIFIC ABUSE IN DUMBARTON, CLYDEBANK, AND STIRLING REVEALED

Jamie McGillivray, aged 35, has been at the center of a disturbing case involving prolonged abuse spanning over a year, with incidents occurring across multiple locations including Dumbarton, Clydebank, and Stirling. The details of his misconduct paint a troubling picture of relentless aggression and intimidation directed towards his former partner.

Last year, McGillivray admitted to a series of aggressive behaviors that took place between April 1, 2019, and June 2, 2020. During this period, he engaged in repeated acts of shouting and swearing, often accompanied by offensive remarks aimed at his ex-partner. His conduct was characterized by a pattern of threatening self-harm, which he frequently demonstrated by punching himself in the head and body, further escalating the emotional turmoil.

Throughout the ordeal, McGillivray demanded personal information about his former partners, including explicit questions about whether his ex had performed oral sex on previous partners. His threats extended to the unborn child of his partner, as he threatened to harm the unborn baby, adding a deeply disturbing element to his behavior. He also exerted control by preventing her from socializing with friends, repeatedly calling and texting her to inquire about her whereabouts, and following her and her vehicle at various times.

His violent tendencies manifested physically as well. He punched walls and doors, threw household items, and repeatedly threw food at her. At one point, he brandished a pair of scissors, further demonstrating his capacity for violence. In a particularly alarming incident, McGillivray attempted to physically remove her from a property in Balloch by lifting her, and he issued threats of violence against her and her family members.

His harassment did not cease there. He demanded that she withdraw her police complaint against him and repeatedly drove past a property in Alexandria where he believed she was present. His actions took place in various locations, including Glen Avenue and Peel View in Clydebank, Honeysuckle Lane in Alexandria, The River House in Stirling, the car park near McColl's on Lomond Road in Dumbarton, the car park near the Co-op in Balloch, the A82 highway between Clydebank and Dumbarton, a bus stop near Drumry Road in Clydebank, and at Clydebank Asda, among others.

Initially, McGillivray chose to contest the case in court, forcing his ex-partner to testify against him. However, partway through the proceedings, he changed his plea to guilty. The case then proceeded to sentencing, which took place on January 7. During the hearing, his defense solicitor described McGillivray as being
