HAWICK MAN KICKED MOTHER DURING ASSAULT IN GALASHIELS

BACKROUND reports have been ordered into a Hawick man who admitted assaulting his mother at a house in Galashiels.

Thirty-six-year-old Jamie Barton pleaded guilty to kicking her on the body and seizing her on the body in Croft Street, on November 28.

He admitted a second charge of assaulting a man by repeatedly punching him on the head to his injury.

Sentence was deferred at Selkirk Sheriff Court until February 2.
