JAMES MADINE AND SHOCKING SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN LIVERPOOL AND ST HELENS

This disturbing case highlights the serious criminal acts committed by James Madine, whose appearance has become associated with a heinous sexual assault incident that took place during a house party.

According to reports, Merseyside Police received a concerning complaint on Saturday, October 29, 2019, involving James Madine, aged 34, who was accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a private residence in St Helens.

The investigation was thorough and complex, involving forensic analysis and meticulous inquiries conducted by detectives from Merseyside’s specialized Unity Team, which focuses on serious sexual offences and rape cases.

After the comprehensive investigation, Madine, a resident of Kamala Way in Norris Green, was formally charged with sexual assault by penetration.

The legal proceedings culminated in a trial that lasted seven days, during which the evidence was thoroughly examined and the testimony of witnesses was considered.

On January 31, 2023, the jury found Madine guilty of the charges, leading to his conviction.

Following his conviction, James Madine was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, March 3, to serve a prison term of four years.

The court also imposed a significant restraining order, banning him from approaching or contacting the victim for a period of ten years.

Additionally, Madine was issued a sexual offences prevention order and was placed on the lifetime sex offences register, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restriction.

Detective Constable Rebecca Igglesden emphasized the importance of the investigation and the victim’s bravery.

She stated, “This sentence follows a lengthy investigation to bring Madine before the courts so that he pays for his crimes.

His victim showed great determination and bravery when reporting this to police and throughout the entire process.” DC Igglesden further expressed her hope that the court’s decision would provide the victim with the crucial closure needed to move forward.

“I hope this result brings her the closure she deserves and allows her to move on from this knowing he cannot harm them or anyone else.

Madine will now spend a considerable amount of time behind bars for his deplorable actions and offences.” The officer underscored the persistent stance of Merseyside Police against violence directed at women and girls.

She remarked, “Today’s results show that violence against women and girls will simply not be tolerated and we will work tirelessly to bring perpetrators to justice.

We are committed to protecting victims of sexual offences, and anyone who reports an incident to us will be safeguarded and supported throughout the investigation.” She urged anyone who has been a victim or suspects someone’s involvement in such criminal activities to come forward, assuring them of the dedicated and compassionate support from law enforcement.

“Anyone that has been a victim of a sexual offence, is concerned for the safety of someone they know or suspects someone to be engaging in this criminal activity, should come forward and speak to us.

We have a team of dedicated staff who will expertly and compassionately deal with your reports and we will do everything we can to bring offenders to justice.” Members of the public are encouraged to report sexual offences by calling 101, where specially trained officers will handle inquiries, or they can anonymously share information through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
