ARDROSSAN MAN FACES SENTENCING AFTER GUILTY PLEA FOR ASSAULT AND THREATENING BEHAVIOR
AN ARDROSSAN man is awaiting sentence after he confessed to assaulting his ex-partner.
James Lennon, who was 27 at the time of the offence, pleaded guilty to two charges when he appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Friday, June 2.
Lennon, now 28, admitted that on March 31 he assaulted his former partner by seizing their body and repeatedly pushing them in his home, just off Glasgow Street in Ardrossan.
Lennon also pleaded guilty to a second charge of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner in that he acted aggressively towards, and swore at, the victim on the same date.
Court papers state that his actions were likely to have caused fear or alarm to his victim.
Accepting the guilty pleas, Sheriff Nicola Patrick deferred sentencing until later this month to gather background reports.
