A man named James Kelly has been sentenced to a decade behind bars after being convicted of a series of heinous violent and sexual offenses committed against women in the Edinburgh area. The 43-year-old offender's criminal activities spanned over a period of seven years, from 2014 to 2021, during which he targeted six women, subjecting them to unimaginable suffering.
Kelly's crimes included multiple sexual offenses, notably six counts of rape, which highlight the severity and brutality of his actions.
In addition to these sexual crimes, he also carried out a violent assault on one victim that resulted in severe injuries, leaving her physically and emotionally scarred.

The court proceedings revealed the extent of his misconduct and the impact it had on the victims.

Detective Inspector Eirlys Fraser commented on the case, stating, “James Kelly subjected his victims to a shocking level of violence and sexual abuse.
He is an extremely dangerous individual, who showed no remorse for his behaviour, but he is now paying the price for his despicable actions.” She also expressed her appreciation for the bravery of the women involved, saying, “I would like to commend the women for their strength in coming forward during this investigation and helping us build a compelling case against him.
I hope this outcome provides them with some sense of closure and allows them to move on from this horrendous ordeal.”
