JAMES ENWOOD SENTENCED IN EDINBURGH FOR PERVERTED CRIMES AGAINST YOUNG GIRLS
In a disturbing series of criminal acts committed in Edinburgh, James Enwood, aged 45, has been sentenced to prison for his heinous offenses involving three young girls. The crimes, which spanned over a period of six months, included multiple instances of sexual misconduct, harassment, and predatory behavior directed at vulnerable minors.
Enwood's sinister actions began when a 12-year-old girl visited his residence at Granton Mains Wynd in Edinburgh.
According to court reports, the girl had gone to his home to make herself a hot drink, only to be followed by Enwood.
During this encounter, he inappropriately touched her by placing his hand on her breast, an act that marked the start of his pattern of abuse.
The court heard that on a subsequent occasion, the same girl was staying over at his house.
When she refused to go to his bedroom after he called her, Enwood entered her room without permission and touched her under the duvet covering her.
The third incident involving this girl occurred when she visited Enwood’s home to collect a DVD.
She found him in his living room with his trousers down around his ankles, exposing himself in a clear act of indecency.
Meanwhile, a second girl, aged 14, was at Enwood’s house playing on a computer when he approached her.
He initially asked if his hand was cold, then proceeded to run his hand up her clothing, groping her before forcing a kiss and making further advances.
These acts of sexual misconduct were part of a series of offenses that Enwood admitted to in court.
Despite being charged and released on bail earlier in the year, Enwood continued his predatory behavior.
One of his victims, a girl whose older sister also visited Enwood’s home, did not initially disclose the abuse.
However, when Enwood attempted his sickening acts on her, she bravely reported him to the police.
The girl recounted how she was chased around the living room by Enwood, who told her, “no one will hear you scream because of the loud music,” as he tried to force a kiss and physically assaulted her.
Enwood’s arrest and subsequent charges led to his guilty plea on October 28.
The court was informed of the full extent of his misconduct, which occurred between July and December of the previous year.
Sheriff Kenneth Maciver emphasized the importance of protecting young females from such offending, stating, “The courts must protect young females from offending of this type.” As a result, Enwood was sentenced to 22 months in prison, with an additional two-year extended supervision order to monitor his behavior and enforce conditions.
Furthermore, he was placed on the sex offenders register for life, ensuring ongoing oversight of his activities and preventing further harm to the community in Edinburgh.
