HUDDERSFIELD MAN JAILED FOR BRUTAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND ASSAULT WITH BASEBALL BAT
A woman was obliged to jump from her flat window to escape her partner, who was attacking her with a baseball bat.Police responded to the incident on January 30 after a neighbor reported the disturbance, discovering her inside a neighboring residence, covered in blood.
According to her account, Dollive, aged 33, had assaulted her with a baseball bat around 12 times and had previously abused her at her sister’s house on Christmas Day.
Court hearing revealed that Dollive had visited her sister’s home, displayed aggression, threatened to punch her, and then physically assaulted her—punching her face, headbutting her, and striking her with a stool.
Her sister sustained injuries including cartilage damage and swelling, requiring a CT scan and medical treatment.
The defendant’s offending involved multiple unlawful entries into her home, climbing onto her balcony, and persistent refusal to end their relationship, resulting in violence and threats.
On the day of the attack, Dollive entered her flat demanding money; when she tried to leave, he detained her by locking the door and confiscating her phone.
She escaped by leaping out of a window, bloodied.
In court, Dollive appeared via video link, denying the allegations and claiming he had been attacked by others.
He admitted to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and section 20 wounding.
He had previously been given a suspended sentence and community order.
The judge sentenced him to four years in prison, highlighting his 29 convictions for 58 offences, including violent crimes, and describing his behavior as disgraceful.
He was ordered to serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before release and was subject to a 12-year restraining order preventing contact with his ex-partner and her sister.
