JADE HENDERSON: BLACKPOOL AND WISHAW SEX OFFENDER MOVES TO SCOTLAND AFTER BRIEF RELEASE

In June 2021, a disturbing case involving Jade Henderson, a woman with a troubling history of sexual offenses against minors, came to light once again. Henderson, originally from Blackpool, was convicted of engaging in sexual activity with an 11-year-old boy in April 2015. Her conviction led to a five-month suspended prison sentence, coupled with a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) designed to restrict her contact with children and prevent further offenses.

Despite these restrictions, Henderson’s behavior raised serious concerns when she was found to have breached the terms of her SHPO on multiple occasions. At Preston Crown Court, she faced charges of five flagrant breaches involving three different young boys, highlighting a pattern of risky and inappropriate conduct. Henderson, who has been described as having significant learning difficulties, had met a family in a pub in Blackpool in January 2018, along with her boyfriend. The family, which had four young children, initially saw Henderson as a friendly acquaintance, with the mother noting that Henderson enjoyed playing with the children.

According to prosecutor Amanda Johnson, Henderson and her partner would visit the family several times a week, sometimes offering to babysit. However, the mother refused these offers, citing existing arrangements with another babysitter. Henderson also asked if the children could stay overnight at her residence, raising suspicions. On one occasion, Henderson took the children shopping but did not return them immediately, causing the mother to become worried. When she called Henderson, she was told she was at a KFC with the children and apologized for the delay.

The situation worsened when the mother received a newspaper clipping from 2015, detailing Henderson’s previous conviction for sexual activity with a child. Further concerns arose in May 2018 when Henderson was spotted at a campsite in North Wales, where she was holidaying with her partner. She entered a caravan with her partner and was observed talking to children, taking photographs of them on her mobile phone. During this encounter, Henderson recounted a tragic story about losing two children in a car crash, claiming they were her own. When she disclosed her age, the family became suspicious, and a quick online search revealed her past criminal record.

One of the boys later reported that Henderson had taken photos of him and told him she loved him, further illustrating her inappropriate behavior. Henderson’s failure to comply with her notification requirements after her 2015 conviction was also a matter of concern. She did not inform police when she moved into the New Milton Hotel in Blackpool, where she worked as a live-in manager with her partner, Mr. Wood.

Judge Recorder Ian Harris addressed Henderson directly, stating that her previous convictions and breaches left no choice but to impose immediate imprisonment. He emphasized that her past warnings and breaches demonstrated a clear risk to children. The judge condemned her actions, noting that she had befriended young children without disclosing her background, hoping that their parents would remain unaware. Although no harm was ultimately caused to the children involved, the judge found her behavior deeply troubling and indicative of ongoing risk.

As a result, Henderson was sentenced to a total of 15 months in prison. Her criminal history, including her 2016 conviction and subsequent breaches, underscored the seriousness of her offenses. Her case drew further attention when it was revealed that she had moved to Wishaw, Lanarkshire, in Scotland, attempting to start anew after her release.

However, her past caught up with her once again. In May 2018, while at a campsite in North Wales, Henderson breached her SHPO by failing to notify authorities of her whereabouts. A mother, who wishes to remain anonymous, warned Scottish families about Henderson’s presence, recounting how her family had encountered Henderson and her partner at the campsite. The mother explained that Henderson had introduced herself as the fiancée of her partner, whom she knew from previous connections. Henderson had shown her a picture of two children she claimed were her own, who had supposedly died in a car crash in 2006, and later told stories that did not add up.

The mother expressed her concern after discovering Henderson’s criminal background through online searches, which revealed her past offenses and her presence on the sex offenders’ register. She recounted how Henderson had taken photographs of her six-year-old son and told him she loved him, raising alarm bells about her intentions. The mother contacted police, who confirmed Henderson’s status on the register and took statements from her family. Henderson’s failure to inform authorities about her move into a Blackpool hotel, where she worked as a live-in manager, was another breach of her legal obligations.

In court, Henderson’s history of breaching court orders and her pattern of inappropriate conduct towards children led to her being sentenced to an additional 15 months in prison for five breaches of her SHPO. The judge reiterated that Henderson posed a significant risk to children and emphasized the importance of public awareness to prevent further harm. Her case remains a stark reminder of the ongoing dangers posed by individuals with a history of sexual offenses against minors, especially when they attempt to re-establish contact with families and children in new locations.
