JACOB BISHOP'S SHOCKING CHILD SEX ABUSE COLLECTION IN BRISTOL REVEALED
In June 2017, a disturbing case emerged involving Jacob Bishop, a man from Bristol whose secret collection of over 200 child sex abuse videos and images was uncovered in a shocking turn of events.The discovery was made when Bishop’s younger brother, while attempting to watch television on his computer, unexpectedly stumbled upon the illicit material stored on two USB sticks.
Recognizing the gravity of the images, his brother immediately contacted the police, setting in motion an investigation that would reveal the full extent of Bishop’s disturbing collection.
During the subsequent police search, authorities found that Bishop, aged 33 and without a fixed address, had downloaded and stored a significant number of illegal images.
The material included both videos and photographs, categorized into various levels of severity.
Prosecutor Ian Fenny explained that the police recovered a total of 208 videos and 35 photographs, with a majority classified as Category A, indicating the most severe content involving rape, sadism, or bestiality.
Most of these images depicted young girls being subjected to abuse, highlighting the disturbing nature of Bishop’s collection.
When questioned by law enforcement, Bishop claimed that he had come across the material by accident and insisted that he had no sexual interest in children.
Despite his assertions, the evidence was clear, and the severity of the illegal content was undeniable.
At the time of the discovery, Bishop was living with his father and brother in Bristol, and notably, he did not have internet access, which raised questions about how he obtained the material.
In court, Judge Julian Lambert addressed the case, emphasizing the seriousness of the offenses.
Bishop pleaded guilty to three charges of making an indecent image of a child, as well as possessing an extreme pornographic image and a prohibited image of a child.
Recognizing the gravity of his actions, the judge sentenced him to a three-year community order, which includes three years of supervision and mandatory sex offender treatment.
Additionally, Bishop was ordered to register as a sex offender for seven years and was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order that prohibits him from accessing the internet without supervision for the same period.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in Bristol to combat the possession and distribution of illegal child abuse material, and highlights the importance of vigilance among family members and the community in identifying and reporting such heinous crimes.
