JACK POORE FROM HADLOW THREATENS WOMAN WITH PETROL BOMB AND KNIFE IN DISTURBING RANT

A woman living in Hadlow was subjected to a terrifying ordeal as her former partner, Jack Poore, launched a series of threatening and menacing phone calls that left her in a state of constant fear and anxiety. The disturbing campaign of harassment, which lasted for four months, included explicit threats to her safety, including threats to slit her throat and to set her home ablaze with petrol.

During a court hearing at Canterbury Crown Court, the woman described the profound impact Poore’s actions had on her mental well-being. She characterized him as a “very unhinged individual,” emphasizing how his relentless behavior had overwhelmed her, forcing her to alter her daily routines and live in a state of constant vigilance. The severity of her distress was such that the sentencing judge questioned why Poore had not faced more serious charges given the nature of his conduct.

Poore, aged 32, has a troubling criminal history. He previously received a conviction for assaulting the same woman during what she described as a “toxic and controlling” relationship. Despite this, he was on bail at the time of the latest incidents, breaching two separate protective orders issued by different courts. Additionally, he was under a suspended sentence, which further complicated his legal standing.

The court was informed that Poore had a pattern of disregarding court orders meant to prevent him from contacting the woman. In March of this year, he began to harass her through persistent calls and messages. His initial attempts involved leaving voicemails in which he expressed feelings of heartbreak and love, claiming he was “broken.” However, these soon devolved into a barrage of foul language and threats, with Poore calling her a “dirty, cheating little c***,” and explicitly threatening to “slice” her and wish death upon her.

The prosecutor, Alban Brahimi, revealed that the victim also received a chilling Snapchat message from Poore, who used the alias John James. In this message, he ominously warned her, “You will be in a petrol bomb by 10pm,” adding to the sense of imminent danger she faced.
