NOTTINGHAM MAN JAILED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND ASSAULT
Jack Mochun, a 24-year-old man, has been convicted and sentenced for a series of violent and abusive acts directed at his former partner and others.According to Nottinghamshire Police, Mochun repeatedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend during 2022 and 2023, including incidents of suffocation, dislocating her shoulder, and other physical violence.
He admitted to charges such as intentional suffocation, causing actual bodily harm, harassment, four counts of assault by beating, and inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent on a different individual.
His sentence involves two and a half years in custody, along with a restraining order.
Police further revealed that Mochun persisted in harassing his partner after their breakup and that his violence extended beyond women.
On September 16, 2023, reports indicate he assaulted a man he had recently met, smashing a glass into his face following a night of drinking.
The male victim, in his 40s, suffered cuts and a damaged eye.
Detective Sergeant Paul Clark described Mochun as "a violent and controlling bully who poses a clear risk to women" and expressed satisfaction with his detention.
Clark highlighted the importance of victims reporting abuse and urged victims to come forward, hoping Mochun's jail time prompts others to seek help and report domestic violence.
