Jack Griffiths

Rayleigh Sexual Abuser

May 2018 Court tells flasher he must not approach women & girls A pervert has been told he must not approach women or girls in public after being convicted for flashing strangers from his car. Jack Griffiths, of Warwick Gardens, Rayleigh, was arrested on March 3, on suspicion of exposure and voyeurism after multiple women had reported being flashed by a man in a vehicle. On one occasion, he asked a woman walking down the street for directions and when she went over to the car to help, he exposed his genitals to her. After Essex Police’s antisocial behaviour officer Bob Fort and the Castle Point and Rochford Community Policing Team worked with the Crown Prosecution Service, Griffiths was brought before the courts. The 20-year-old appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court on May 16 and was charged with three counts of exposure. Griffiths pleaded guilty to all three charges and was handed a three-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO). CBOs are usually given to those that cause a nuisance or disorder but after working closely with the CPS, an order was granted to protect women from his behaviour. The order makes it an offence for Griffiths to approach any lone women or girls in a public place while he is alone in a vehicle. He must also provide Essex Police with the details of any vehicles he is driving. The courts also ordered him to complete 200 hours of unpaid work, to pay a £620 compensation and costs and to sign the Sex Offender Register for three years.
