IZAT ULLAH AND SHOCKING SEX OFFENCES IN HULL AND ESSEX
A deeply disturbing case involving a man named Izat Ullah has come to light, revealing a series of sexual offences carried out over a span of just three days on trains in Essex.Ullah, a resident of Queens Road, Hull, was identified as the perpetrator following an extensive investigation by transport police.
His pattern of predatory behavior involved targeting lone female passengers in public transportation, raising serious concerns about the safety of women on the railway networks across England.
The series of incidents began on the morning of Tuesday, March 15.
The first victim, a woman traveling on a train from London to Southend, found herself directly targeted by Ullah as he approached her and sat directly opposite her.
During the journey, Ullah's behavior became increasingly alarming; he was seen touching himself over his trousers.
When the woman attempted to leave her seat, Ullah blocked her path, physically detained her by grabbing her and forcing her back into her seat.
He then placed his hand on her upper torso and made an attempt to kiss her.
The victim was able to break free from Ullah’s grip and fled to another carriage, seeking safety.
Following this distressing encounter, police officers arrested Ullah later that day at Southend Victoria station.
When taken into custody for questioning, Ullah refused to speak but was observed laughing throughout the interview.
Consequently, he was held and later released on police bail on the morning of Wednesday, March 16, with strict conditions prohibiting him from using the railway network in England or Wales.
Ullah’s disturbing behavior did not end there.
Later that same evening, around 8:30 pm, he was again aboard an Essex train, this time targeting an 18-year-old woman who was returning home.
Ullah approached her from a seat opposite hers and engaged in a new form of sexual misconduct by exposing himself.
He further placed his hand in his trousers and began masturbating.
When the victim confronted him, telling him to stop, Ullah responded with apology, saying, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” before touching her inappropriately as she moved away.
The following early hours of Thursday, March 17, saw Ullah’s another encounter with a different victim during a journey heading towards Southend.
Throughout this trip, he repeatedly stared at her, exhibiting predatory behavior.
When she reached Southend East station and entered a taxi outside, Ullah followed her, persisting in his unwanted attention.
Later that morning, Ullah was detained outside a children’s nursery for failing to comply with the Sex Offenders Register, culminating in his arrest.
Ullah’s court appearance took place at Hull Crown Court on July 1, where he pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual assault, one count of exposure, and failure to comply with the requirements of the Sexual Offenders Register.
The court subsequently sentenced him to 16 months in prison on July 20 and ordered that he be registered as a sex offender for the next ten years.
Detective Constable Lucy King provided a statement expressing her views on the case.
She described Ullah as a “twisted offender who prowled the railway targeting lone victims for his own sexual gratification.” She emphasized that Ullah represents a clear danger to women's safety while traveling and highlighted the importance of prompt police action in arresting him.
Detective King also took the opportunity to thank the victims for their courage and cooperation during the investigation.
“No one should be subjected to this kind of abhorrent behavior on the railway,” she stated.
This case underscores the ongoing issue of safety concerns for women in public transportation and the importance of vigilant law enforcement.
The authorities continue to work towards ensuring safer environments for all passengers, and this case serves as a stark reminder of the need for continued vigilance and support for victims of sexual misconduct.
