CARE WORKER JAILED FOR SEX OFFENCES
A care worker from Maidstone has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of sexually abusing a severely disabled individual.Naguib Lootfun, aged 69 and residing at Mill Walk, committed the abuse while employed at an assisted living facility.
Concerns about his conduct emerged on 8 May 2024, when staff discovered an empty condom wrapper discarded in a bedroom following his night shift.
Lootfun claimed the wrapper had been in his pocket and that it had fallen out during his shift.
As a result, he was suspended from his duties while an investigation was conducted.
The next day, authorities found a used condom in a bin bag at the care home.
This led to Lootfun’s arrest on suspicion of rape.
Initially denying any sexual misconduct, Lootfun was involved in a detailed search of the premises where a second used condom was located outside the waste area.
DNA testing linked him to the acts.
He pleaded guilty and was convicted on 9 July at Maidstone Crown Court, acknowledging he had sexual relations with a person who could not consent.
He is currently remanded in custody until a sentencing hearing scheduled for 9 October, where he received a sentence of 11 years plus an additional four years on license.
