SEAHAM MAN IAN WHITE ADMITS CHILD-SEX CHARGES IN DURHAM COURT

In a recent development at Durham Crown Court, Ian White, a 33-year-old resident of Seaham, has pleaded guilty to two serious charges involving sexual activity with a minor. The offences were committed against a 15-year-old boy on October 27 of the previous year, marking a disturbing case that has garnered significant attention in the local community.

During the court proceedings, White did not contest the allegations and formally admitted to the charges brought against him. His defense attorney, Roger Moore, requested that the court order comprehensive reports, including a medical assessment, citing White’s ongoing struggle with severe depression. The judge presiding over the case, Peter Bowers, agreed to these requests and scheduled a further hearing for April 20 to review the reports and determine the next steps.

Judge Bowers issued a cautious warning to White, stating, “I’m making no promises about what’s going to happen. That will be decided on the day.” This statement underscored the seriousness of the charges and the potential consequences White faces.

As part of his bail conditions, White was instructed to stay away from Seaham, his hometown, and to reside at his parents’ residence on West Coronation Street in Murton.
