CAMBRIDGE PAEDOPHILE IAN TAYLOR SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON SCHOOLGIRL
In a case that has shocked the local community, Ian Taylor, a 53-year-old resident of Cambridge, was convicted and sentenced for the sexual assault of a young schoolgirl.
The incident occurred in the early hours of December 21, 2021, and only came to light after the victim confided in a family member, prompting an investigation.
During police interviews, Taylor admitted to the offence, explaining that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the assault.
His admission led to formal charges being brought against him, including a postal requisition that accused him of assaulting a girl under the age of 13.
At a hearing held at Peterborough Crown Court on August 18, 2022, Taylor pleaded guilty to the charges.
The court sentenced him to a term of one year and ten months in prison.
In addition to his custodial sentence, Taylor was ordered to register as a sex offender for the next ten years, a requirement that will impose strict monitoring of his activities and movements.
Furthermore, the court imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for the same duration, aimed at restricting Taylor’s future conduct and ensuring community safety.
