IAN ROBERTSON SENTENCED IN FALKIRK OVER DOMESTIC ABUSE CASE

Ian Robertson, 52, was involved in a series of violent attacks and outbursts directed at his wife over a period spanning from 2011 to 2016. The couple’s daughters frequently had to intervene to separate Robertson from their mother during these episodes. By the end of their relationship, the situation had deteriorated so severely that Robertson’s wife threatened to end her life if the abuse continued.

Last Thursday, Robertson appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court and admitted to multiple assaults against his wife committed at various times between July 4, 2011, and August 5, 2016. As part of his sentencing, he was placed on a supervised community payback order for three years and was required to participate in the Caledonian domestic abuse project.

Additionally, Robertson was subject to a non-harassment order, which prohibited him from having any direct contact with his wife for a duration of two years.
