BLACKBURN SEX OFFENDERS IAN HINDLE AND ANDREW WELLS EXPOSED AFTER CRIMES

In a disturbing case that has shocked the Blackburn community, two men with ties to the British National Party were convicted of serious sexual offences involving underage girls. Ian Richard Hindle, aged 32 and residing on Church Walk in Blackburn, along with Andrew Paul Wells, aged 49 of Infirmary Street in Blackburn, were sentenced to a combined total of five years and three months in prison during a hearing at Preston Crown Court in November 2008.

According to court proceedings, both men had engaged in sexual activities with a 14-year-old girl. The court was informed that Wells had supplied alcohol to the girl at his flat on Infirmary Street, facilitating the inappropriate encounter. Hindle, who pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual activity with a minor, was sentenced to three years in prison. It was revealed that Hindle had become aware of the girl’s age prior to engaging in sexual acts with her, which did not mitigate his criminal responsibility.

Andrew Wells, who was sentenced to two years and three months, also admitted to two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a minor and one count of sexual activity in the presence of a minor. Both men’s criminal actions came to light after their arrest, leading to their expulsion from the BNP, a decision confirmed by Robin Evans, a local party organizer. Evans stated, “They didn’t have any sexual offences when they became members. As soon as it was brought to our attention — as soon as they were arrested — they were both expelled. If it was up to the BNP, they would have received much longer sentences.”

It was also disclosed that neither Hindle nor Wells was involved in the administrative or leadership roles within the local BNP branch; they merely attended meetings. Evans expressed relief at their removal, saying, “We are glad to be rid of them.”

Adding to the controversy, last week, the identities and addresses of over 250 BNP members from East Lancashire, including some from Blackburn, were leaked online. The list, which includes approximately 12,000 individuals nationwide, features police officers, teachers, and soldiers. Robin Evans mentioned that some people on the list had received threatening phone calls, highlighting the potential dangers faced by those exposed.

Update as of October 2014 indicates that Ian Hindle has been released from custody and returned to Blackburn, where he continues to show no remorse for his actions, further unsettling the local community and raising concerns about ongoing safety and accountability.
