SOLIHULL MAN IAN DRAPER CAUGHT WITH SICK CHILD IMAGES AND BESTIALITY VIDEOS
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Solihull, Ian Draper, a 56-year-old resident of Lugtrout Lane, was found to possess a vast collection of indecent images and extreme pornography involving children and animals. The investigation into Draper’s activities uncovered a deeply troubling pattern of behavior that spanned over a decade.According to court reports, Draper had accessed more than 1,000 indecent images since 2011, with dozens classified as the most serious category, Category A. These images included graphic depictions of children as young as three being abused, as well as explicit content involving animals, such as horses and sheep, and even child characters from The Simpsons television show. The images and videos were stored on his electronic devices, which were seized during a police raid in December of the previous year.
Authorities acted on intelligence that led to the search of Draper’s home, where they confiscated a Samsung phone, a Huawei mobile device, a laptop, and a hard drive. Subsequent analysis of these devices revealed a disturbing collection: 77 Category A images and one video, 137 Category B images and one video, and a staggering 864 Category C images along with one video. The Category A images and videos represented the most severe level of indecency, indicating the gravity of the material involved.
The prosecution highlighted that among the illegal content was a prohibited image depicting scenes from The Simpsons cartoon show, illustrating sexual acts involving various characters, including children. Additionally, two videos classified as extreme content showed an adult engaging in sexual acts with a sheep and a horse, respectively. The youngest child depicted in the images was estimated to be just three years old, with most victims believed to be between nine and sixteen years old.
During the court proceedings, Draper admitted to making and possessing these images and videos. He explained that he had been using the internet since 2011 to view adult pornography, which gradually shifted towards material involving minors, initially claiming they were teenagers. He acknowledged that around 2013 or 2014, his consumption increased significantly following personal difficulties, although he claimed to have improved for a period before relapsing in 2018 and 2019.
Judge Atkins QC sentenced Draper to eight months in prison, suspended for two years. The court also imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and notification requirements that will remain in effect for the next ten years, reflecting the seriousness of his offenses and the potential risk to the community.
