HERNANDO FERRARO-CORDOBA AND SHOCKING SEXUAL OFFENSES IN CAMBRIDGE

Hernando Ferraro-Cordoba, a 61-year-old man residing on Thorleye Road in Cambridge, has once again found himself behind bars following a series of disturbing incidents involving teenage girls and violations of court orders.

His criminal activities and subsequent breaches have raised serious concerns about the safety of young individuals in the area.

Initially, Ferraro-Cordoba was sentenced in January at Peterborough Crown Court for assaulting a woman at a local gym.

As part of his punishment, he was also issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which explicitly prohibited him from loitering at gyms, sports facilities, swimming pools, or any sporting events.

Additionally, he was banned from being near any exercise groups or sports gatherings until the year 2030.

Despite these restrictions, Ferraro-Cordoba was found to have violated the court's orders by not registering a new bank card and by breaching the ban on loitering.

Following his release from prison in March, authorities remained vigilant, and in July, police were alerted to a concerning situation near Cambridge's YMCA, a location known for its gym facilities.

Witnesses reported seeing Ferraro-Cordoba speaking to teenage girls in the vicinity.

Investigations quickly revealed a troubling pattern of behavior: Ferraro-Cordoba had been approaching young girls and attempting to persuade them to perform sexual acts on him inside his car.

In exchange, he offered alcohol and even offered to give them a ride.

The police acted swiftly, arresting Ferraro-Cordoba at his home early the following morning.

During the investigation, CCTV footage was obtained, showing him dropping off three teenage girls at the YMCA.

The footage also revealed that he had brought flowers for one girl and had asked two others to accompany him to a hotel, requests which the girls refused.

Ferraro-Cordoba denied all allegations during a police interview, claiming that one of the teenagers had lied about her age and that she was interested in a relationship, not exploitation.

He also denied breaching the SHPO and failing to register a new bank card, asserting that he had not committed any violations.

However, after a trial at Cambridge Magistrates' Court, he was found guilty of all charges, including breaching the court orders and the requirements of the Sex Offenders' Register.

Detective Constable Andrew McKeane expressed concern over Ferraro-Cordoba's conduct, emphasizing the seriousness of his actions towards teenage girls.

He highlighted the potential for sexual exploitation and urged parents and guardians to be vigilant for signs such as children going missing, misusing drugs or alcohol, engaging in offending behavior, emotional withdrawal from family, or receiving gifts from unknown sources.

McKeane also underscored the importance of respecting court orders and the significant consequences of breaching a SHPO, which are taken very seriously by law enforcement and the judiciary.

This case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts to protect vulnerable individuals from predatory behavior and the importance of strict enforcement of court-imposed restrictions on offenders like Hernando Ferraro-Cordoba in Cambridge.
