HENRY GOWDY FROM ILKESTON ADMITS TO SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST CHILD IN BURTON

In a serious development at Stafford Crown Court, Henry John Gowdy, a 61-year-old man originally from Burton, has confessed to multiple sexual offences involving a young girl. The court proceedings revealed that Gowdy pleaded guilty to three separate charges of sexual assault against a girl under the age of 13, with the alleged incidents occurring over a two-year span from April 2012 to April 2014.

In addition to these charges, Gowdy also admitted to three counts of causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity during the same period. These admissions paint a disturbing picture of the allegations against him, which have now been formally acknowledged in court.

Furthermore, Gowdy faced a charge of possessing extreme pornography, which he also admitted to in February of the previous year. This particular offence adds a further layer of concern to the case, highlighting the severity of the allegations and the nature of the evidence presented.

During the hearing, Judge Mark Eades adjourned the case until June 2, when a trial of issue will take place.
