May 2017 Pervert admits three charges of sexual assault against a child in Burton A 61-year-old former Burton man has admitted a number sexual offences involving a young child when he appeared at crown court. Henry John Gowdy has pleaded guilty to three charges of sexual assault of a girl under the age of 13, said to have happened between April 2012 and April, 2014. He has also admitted three offences of causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity during the same period and a charge of possessing extreme pornography in February last year. At Stafford Crown Court Judge Mark Eades adjourned the case until June 2 for a trial of issue. He will hear evidence to determine the extent of the offences and consider a probation report before passing sentence. Gowdy, now of Ash Street, Ilkeston, was allowed bail.
