HORRIFIC ALEXANDRIA PAEDOPHILE HENRY BLACK CAUGHT WITH OVER 60,000 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES AND VIDEOS

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Alexandria, Henry Black, a man residing on Thomas Street, has been found guilty of possessing an overwhelming collection of indecent images and videos of children, including some he filmed himself of naked girls as young as five years old. The investigation revealed that Black had been engaging in this heinous activity for more than six years, starting from November 4, 2010, and continuing until January 26 of this year.

Police Scotland’s Cyber Crime Unit, based at Helen Street, conducted a thorough examination of Black’s electronic devices and uncovered a staggering total of 62,000 indecent images. These included both still photographs and videos depicting young children in sexually explicit situations. The images ranged from children as young as four years old to five-year-olds, some of whom were being sexually abused by adults, with at least one video showing a four-year-old girl being sexually assaulted by an adult male.

Black was brought before Airdrie Sheriff Court, where he pleaded guilty to all charges. During the hearing, he sat quietly in the dock, head bowed and showing little emotion, as prosecutor Agnes Meek detailed the extent of his crimes to Sheriff Petra Collins. Black admitted to possessing the images at his former residence in Moodiesburn, Glasgow, and also acknowledged his involvement in other related offences committed within his home.

Specifically, the court heard that between December 1, 2011, and August 31, 2015, Black engaged in sexual activities in the presence of a five-year-old girl. He took photographs of her while she was naked and recorded her bathing and showering, with the apparent intent of viewing these images later. Additionally, he was charged with taking or allowing to be taken further indecent images of three young girls, all aged between five and nine years old, during the same period. These offences also occurred at his home in Moodiesburn.

During the police interview at Coatbridge police station, Black made full admissions regarding his actions. He revealed that he was addicted to pornography, which contributed to his deviant behavior. The investigation uncovered that he had initially stored around 3,000 indecent images on his first computer, but subsequent inquiries revealed even more disturbing content, including videos of young children naked on his living room floor and explicit images of young girls showering. Black admitted to taking these images himself, instructing the girls on what to do, and expressed remorse for his actions.

The severity of the case prompted the court to defer sentencing to allow for comprehensive background reports and a risk assessment, including input from Stop It Now, an organization that provides counseling for sex offenders. Black had been attending their sessions voluntarily in recent months. On January 15, he returned to court, where he was sentenced to 20 months in prison and was ordered to register as a sex offender for the next ten years.

In a previous hearing in November 2017, Black’s disturbing collection of over 60,000 indecent images was highlighted, emphasizing the gravity of his crimes. The court was informed that he had been living in Alexandria at the time of his arrest and that his actions had caused significant concern among local residents and authorities alike. The case has drawn widespread condemnation, and Black’s sentencing marks a serious step in addressing the exploitation of vulnerable children and the dangers posed by individuals like him within the community.
