HASEENBULLAH RAHIMI FROM NEWCASTLE CAUGHT TRYING TO SEXUALLY EXPLOIT UNDERAGE GIRL IN ONLINE CHAT SCAM
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community in Newcastle, Haseenbullah Rahimi, a man with a background of service in Afghanistan, was found attempting to engage in a sexual conversation with a minor through social media.Rahimi, who had previously been granted indefinite leave to remain in the UK due to his work with security forces in Helmand Province, was caught in an online sting operation that revealed his inappropriate intentions.
On February 13, Rahimi initiated a chat on Facebook with what he believed was a 14-year-old girl.
The profile, under the alias Megan and claiming to reside in Durham, was actually a fake account created by authorities to catch potential offenders.
Despite stating early in the conversation that he was aware he was not supposed to communicate with someone of her age, Rahimi continued to engage with the decoy.
Prosecutor Kevin Wardlaw detailed the exchanges in court, noting that Rahimi inquired about the girl receiving Valentine’s Day gifts and asked whether she had a boyfriend.
When the girl, who claimed to have no sexual experience, was called a “virgin angel” by Rahimi, he further pressed her about her innocence.
The court heard that Rahimi acknowledged the illegality of his actions, stating, “I know I could get arrested for chatting to her in the way that I was.” As the conversation progressed, Rahimi offered compliments and then proceeded to give graphic, explicit instructions on how the girl could perform a sex act on herself.
These instructions were accompanied by a pornographic image of an adult woman, which he used to illustrate his points.
After this disturbing exchange, Rahimi abruptly ended the chat.
Haseenbullah Rahimi, aged 30 and residing on Tumulus Avenue in Newcastle, pleaded guilty to attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity.
His sentencing at Newcastle Crown Court resulted in a two-year prison sentence, which was suspended for two years.
Additionally, Rahimi was ordered to participate in rehabilitation programs, sign the sex offenders register, and adhere to a sexual harm prevention order for the next decade.
This case highlights ongoing concerns about online safety and the importance of vigilance in protecting minors from exploitation.
