HARRY WOOLES BUSTED IN DUDLEY FOR BREACHING SEXUAL HARM PREVENTION ORDER NEAR HEREFORD

In a serious breach of legal restrictions, Harry Wooles, a 19-year-old resident of Dudley, was caught violating a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) that was originally imposed due to his previous conviction for a sexual offense involving a 13-year-old girl. The violations occurred between May 20 and May 23 of this year, when Wooles was seen in the company of a 15-year-old girl, who was still in school uniform, on a road in Hereford. This sighting was particularly concerning because it directly contravened the conditions of his SHPO, which explicitly prohibit him from having unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 16.

According to court records, the order was initially issued on March 13, 2017, following Wooles' conviction for raping a 13-year-old girl. The order was meant to restrict his interactions with minors to prevent any further harm. Despite this, Wooles had previously breached the same order, and his earlier violation was dealt with by a fine. Notably, his first breach occurred just eight days after the order was put into effect, on March 21, 2017.

During the recent incident, Wooles was seen walking with the 15-year-old girl, who was unaware of his criminal background. The girl later stated that she met Wooles in January of the same year and described him as behaving normally, engaging in casual conversation about school. She emphasized that Wooles had not made any sexual remarks, nor had he applied pressure or encouraged her to meet him. Importantly, she was unaware of Wooles' previous conviction at the time of their interaction.

Wooles admitted to breaching the SHPO on June 2 of this year after he was reported by a witness who saw him with the girl. The prosecution, led by Charles Crinion, highlighted Wooles' prior history of violations and the seriousness of his current breaches. Wooles' defense attorney, Martin Butterworth, argued that there was no evidence of any inappropriate discussion or conduct between Wooles and the girl, as reflected in her witness statement.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Wooles, who resides in Brierley Hill, Dudley, has support for his living arrangements and requires assistance with daily tasks such as shopping. Despite his challenges, he is capable of cooking and feeding himself. Wooles also suffers from anxiety and a lack of confidence, which the court considered when determining his sentence.

Judge Daniel Pearce-Higgins QC sentenced Wooles to a two-month period of electronically tagged home detention, which will be enforced daily from 8 pm to 7 am. This measure aims to monitor Wooles' movements closely and prevent further breaches of his court-ordered restrictions.
