HAROON SHAHID BRISTOL SEXUAL OFFENDER SENTENCED TO HOSPITAL ORDER IN REDLAND AND CLIFTON

A 31-year-old man named Haroon Shahid has been subjected to a hospital order after being found responsible for multiple sexual offences committed against women in the city of Bristol. The case, which was thoroughly examined in court, revealed that Shahid, a resident of Fishponds, engaged in a series of disturbing criminal acts in the areas of Clifton and Redland during the previous year.

According to the findings of a trial of the facts, Shahid was responsible for two counts of attempted rape and one count of sexual assault. Shahid's detention was ordered under section 37 of the Mental Health Act, reflecting concerns about his mental health and the potential risk he poses. Detective Constable Dickinson also noted that the victims demonstrated remarkable resilience and courage in coming forward to report their experiences, supporting the investigation, and attending court proceedings. She expressed her belief that there may be additional victims who have yet to come forward, as Shahid is suspected of targeting young women in Clifton and Redland during early 2024.
