April 2012 Ex-soldier jailed for illegal sex sessions A NATIONAL Trust catering worker has been jailed for four years after being found guilty of illegal sex sessions. A dad unwittingly delivered his 14-year-old son into the hands of paedophile Harold Rogers, 57, a court has heard. The boy, who was “confused” about his sexuality, met the ex-soldier over a gay dating website, Gloucester Crown Court was told. For a couple of months the boy, from Cirencester, and Rogers, of The Crescent, Gloucester Road, Cheltenham, performed sex acts for each other via webcams, said prosecutor Lisa Hennessy. But then the boy agreed to travel to Cheltenham to meet Rogers and made up a story that he was going to do gardening work for a friend’s grandfather, Mrs Hennessy said. His father delivered him to Cheltenham for two sex sessions unaware what was going on, she said. Rogers denied two charges of sexually touching the boy, claiming that he believed him to be over 16. But after a two-day trial, Rogers was convicted. He was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for the rest of his life.
