HAROLD OVERTON SENTENCED IN LOUGHT FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF BOY DURING NORTH SOMERCOTES TRIP

In September 2008, a man from Louth named Harold Overton was sentenced to prison for his involvement in a disturbing case of child sexual abuse. The incident occurred after Overton took a young boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, on a day-trip to North Somercotes. During this outing, Overton engaged in inappropriate and criminal behavior that caused significant trauma to the child.

Harold Overton, aged 54 and residing on Wood Lane in Louth, was convicted of sexually abusing the boy, leading to a sentence of two and a half years behind bars. The court heard that Overton admitted to touching the child during their visit, which included a visit to an air-raid shelter. The young victim, described as normally a cheerful and carefree child, appeared noticeably subdued after the trip.
