SUNDERLAND MAN HARINDAPAN GILL CAUGHT IN ONLINE PERVERSION PLOT INVOLVING CHILD AND DOG
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Sunderland, a man identified as Harindapan Gill, aged 32, was caught attempting to engage in heinous acts involving an 11-year-old girl and her pet dog through online communications.The incident came to light after paedophile hunters set up a fake profile on social media, specifically on Chat Avenue, to lure potential offenders and expose their depraved intentions.
Gill, who is married and resides on Calthwaite Close in Sunderland, initially believed he was communicating with a 13-year-old boy named Harry.
The fake profile was operated by the Angels of Innocence, a group dedicated to catching online predators.
During the exchanges, which took place on Valentine’s Day in 2019, Gill quickly shifted the conversation from innocent chatting to highly sexual and disturbing topics.
Despite initially claiming to be a minor, Gill later revealed his true age, but not before making a series of graphic and shocking demands.
Prosecutor Elizabeth Muir detailed to Newcastle Crown Court that Gill’s messages included explicit requests for sexual acts.
These ranged from encouraging the fictitious girl to perform oral sex on a stranger while he listened over the phone, to instructing her to perform a sex act with a hairbrush, and most disturbingly, to have sex with her dog.
The court was told that the nature of these requests was among the most extreme cases of this kind that the authorities had encountered, highlighting the severity of Gill’s depravity.
Members of the paedophile hunting group, who were behind the fake profile, reported feeling physically sick after reading some of Gill’s shocking suggestions.
The court heard that Gill, from Sunderland, admitted to attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activities, a serious criminal offense.
His actions prompted a swift sentencing from Mr.
Recorder Keir Monteith QC, who handed down a 16-month prison sentence, along with a sexual harm prevention order and a requirement to register as a sex offender for ten years.
The judge described Gill’s requests as “depraved and extreme,” emphasizing the gravity of his actions.
He stated, “You need to remind yourself, you wanted to have sex with an 11-year-old, you wanted the 11-year-old to find a stranger to have sex with, you wanted the 11-year-old to have sex with a dog.” The court also noted that Gill presents a “continuing risk of harm to the public,” underscoring the importance of the restrictions imposed.
Further details revealed that Gill had contacted the decoy profile within an hour of its creation and was told multiple times that he was speaking to an 11-year-old girl.
Despite this, he persisted in his attempts to groom her.
Miss Muir explained that Gill asked her if she wanted an older man as a boyfriend and inquired about her appearance, specifically whether she had a “big bum.” When the girl hesitated to give her mobile number, Gill became unpleasant, questioning whether she was a “mummy’s girl.” Once the girl provided her number, the conversations continued via social media and WhatsApp.
Gill boasted about his private parts and encouraged her to find a stranger to perform oral sex on her while he listened on the phone.
He also offered to teach her how to have sex, demanding she follow his instructions.
When she objected, Gill accused her of lying and being a “scared little girl.” The court heard that Gill even suggested they could meet at a McDonald’s to have sex and offered to visit her home.
He further encouraged her to perform sex acts alone and with her dog, demonstrating a complete disregard for the law and the safety of the child involved.
