A 70-year-old man named Hafez Ashraf Uddin has been convicted of multiple sexual offences. The former Islamic teacher from Wivenhoe Road, Barking in London, was found guilty of 13 counts of indecent assault at Ipswich Crown Court following a trial that lasted nearly four weeks. The allegations relate to six different victims and occurred during the years between 1985 and 1999. Uddin was accused of a total of 22 counts involving seven girls; he was convicted of 13 of these offenses while the remaining nine counts resulted in not guilty verdicts.
