DEWSBURY MAN CAUGHT FILMING GIRLFRIEND WITH DOG WALKS FREE UNDER CONDITION
Michael Smith, aged 64, was convicted of filming his 55-year-old girlfriend Gwen Kerr having sex with his bull mastiff dog.Although Smith denied aiding, abetting, counseling, or procuring intercourse with an animal, the jury found him guilty after a trial.
Kerr pleaded guilty to having sex with an animal.
Leeds Crown Court heard that Smith "used and abused" Kerr before allegedly taking the video to social services last May, claiming he was concerned for her welfare, which ultimately led to his court appearance.
Smith, who had 10 previous convictions for 40 offences of various kinds, received a 12-month suspended custodial sentence.
Kerr was conditionally discharged for 12 months with a warning not to repeat the offence.
The prosecutor, Mark McKone, stated: "This defendant (Kerr) effectively had sexual intercourse with a dog.
Mr.
Smith took a video film of that dog." The case highlighted the seriousness of the offences with a maximum penalty of two years in prison for extreme pornographic images.
Smith was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £115, while Kerr was fined £20.
