In a case that has shocked the community of Bracknell, Grant Fowke, a resident of Arncliffe in the town, was brought before Reading Crown Court in January 2018 to face serious charges related to his inappropriate conduct involving a minor. The court proceedings culminated in a sentencing that reflects the gravity of his crimes, which included multiple counts of sexual misconduct with a child.Fowke, who has previously worked as a handyman and a pub worker, was found guilty on several charges. These included one count of sexual contact with a child without penetration, along with three counts of voyeurism. The court's verdict was based on evidence presented during the trial, which detailed his unlawful activities involving a minor. The charges were meticulously broken down into specific sentencing segments: seven years and four months for engaging in sexual activity with a minor, sixteen months for sexual contact without penetration, and an additional eight months for voyeuristic acts.
On January 19, Fowke was sentenced to serve a total of nine years and four months in prison. The court also took steps to ensure public safety and prevent future offenses by imposing a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which will remain in effect until further notice. This order restricts Fowke from engaging in any activities that involve children or vulnerable adults.
Furthermore, Fowke has been permanently barred from working with children or vulnerable adults, a lifetime ban designed to protect potential victims from any future harm. As part of the sentencing, he has also been placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions related to his conduct. The case underscores the importance of vigilance and the justice system’s commitment to safeguarding minors from sexual exploitation and abuse.
