October 2013 Colburn paedophile with more than 18,000 images of children walks free from court A PAEDOPHILE amassed a collection of more than 18,000 images of children because he was bored, a court heard. Graham Williamson told police the pictures and videos of pubescent and pre-pubescent girls found on his computer did not excite him, but he had downloaded them because he was bored. The 55-year-old, of Peppermint Drive, Colburn, Catterick Garrison, was found to be in possession of 18,433 pictures and 11 videos of children when caught after a member of staff at the hotel where he worked alerted police. Teesside Crown Court heard Williamson, handed a suspended sentence for identical offences in November 2011, told police he had watched the videos, but planned to delete them the day after his arrest on March 18 last year. Graham Brown, mitigating, said of the 18,433 images, less than 10,000 of them were indecent and the majority were of ‘clothed individuals posing erotically as opposed to unclad individuals’. He also said that since the start of his suspended sentence, Williamson had made good progress on his sexual offender treatment programme. “There is no evidence of further offending,” he said. “It is my agreement that his risk can be managed in the community.” Judge George Moorhouse gave Williamson a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for two years with 18 months of supervision after he pleaded guilty to 27 charges of making indecent images and seven of possessing them. He was also ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work and will be subject to a curfew from 8pm to 8am.
