LOUTH MAN GRAHAM HORROCKS SENTENCED TO OVER THREE YEARS FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST YOUNG GIRL
In February 2019, a 33-year-old man from Louth was sentenced to more than three and a half years in prison at Lincoln Crown Court for serious sexual offences involving a young girl.
Graham Horrocks, of Old School Court, denied allegations that he had indecently touched the girl, but a jury found him guilty following a trial held earlier that year.
Judge Simon Hirst, when delivering the sentence, stated, “Plainly your offending is so serious that only a custodial sentence can be justified.” Horrocks was also charged with the sexual assault of a child under 13 on a single occasion but was convicted by the jury on that count.
He was acquitted of a second charge of sexual assault involving at least ten additional incidents.
The offences took place between December 2016 and May 2018.
As part of his sentence, Horrocks was placed on the sex offenders’ register for life and was issued an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.
Additionally, he is prohibited from working with children and vulnerable adults.
Prosecutor Mark Achurch explained that the victim reported in May 2018 that she had been sexually abused by Horrocks.
Following the report, authorities arrested him and conducted a police interview.
During a recorded interview played to the jury, the girl described what had happened to her, reinforcing the allegations against Horrocks.
