GRAHAM CORDINGLEY SENTENCED IN BURNLEY AND DUDLEY FOR SERIAL CHILD ABUSE

In a disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Burnley, Dudley, and surrounding areas, Graham Frederick Cordingley, a former taxi driver with ties to Stockport, Macclesfield, Burnley, and Dudley, has been sentenced to a total of 40 months in prison for his heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of young girls.

Cordingley appeared before Chester Crown Court to face multiple charges related to the sexual assault of at least two young girls, with a third alleged victim choosing not to testify during the proceedings. All three victims were female children, and the details of the case reveal a pattern of predatory behavior spanning over two years.

The court heard that between May and August of 2005, Cordingley engaged in repeated sexual assaults against a 12-year-old girl, involving digital penetration on multiple occasions. These acts were described as systematic and deliberate, causing profound harm to the young victim’s childhood and sense of safety.

Additionally, between May and June of 2003, Cordingley was accused of indecently assaulting another female child under the age of 16. The charges detailed a disturbing pattern of abuse that extended over several years, highlighting his predatory conduct towards vulnerable young girls.

Graham Cordingley faced multiple counts in court, including sexual assault by penetration and indecent assault. The severity of his actions and the impact on his victims led to a significant prison sentence. Beyond his incarceration, he was also subjected to a sex offenders prevention order, which included strict conditions aimed at protecting the community and preventing further offenses.

These conditions prohibit him from residing in any household containing female children under 16 without social services' approval, and he is barred from accessing the internet to communicate with children. Furthermore, Cordingley is required to remain on the sex offenders register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to safeguard potential future victims.
