GRAHAM BOYLE JAILED IN PEMBROKE DOCK FOR ABUSING THREE YOUNG GIRLS
In September 2017, a paedophile pensioner named Graham Boyle was sentenced to 11 years in prison for abusing three young girls. Boyle, 78, from Laws Street, Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire, originally hailing from Bridgwater, admitted to five counts of sexual assault involving children under the age of 13.During the court hearing, the mothers of two of the victims confronted Boyle directly, describing the devastating impact on their children. One mother stated, "She spoke words that no mother should hear from a daughter. She was so worried she wouldn’t be taken seriously. He told her that no-one would believe her and everyone would hate her if she told anyone. My baby had her innocence stolen." She explained that her daughter found the courage to come forward because she feared other girls might be harmed as well, saying, "She found her courage and bravery to come forward because she was afraid other girls would be next. She came forward to protect others."
A second mother also described the emotional toll, saying, "The look of fear on my daughter’s face will stay with me forever. I need to see justice for the mental and physical abuse against my baby girl."
Prosecutor Pushpanjali Gohil revealed that Boyle’s victims ranged in age from eight to 12 and emphasized that they had felt unable to disclose their abuse earlier. She told the court, “They never felt they were able to tell anyone. It’s had a dramatic impact on children and their families.”
Judge David Evans addressed the court at sentencing, condemning Boyle’s actions as “a series of despicable sexual assaults.” He pointed out aggravating factors, including Boyle’s refusal to plead guilty earlier and his lack of remorse. The judge remarked, “The dignity of what these girls and their families have been through stands in stark contrast to your own behaviour. If you had the decency to admit your guilt from the outset, you would have spared them the needless worry they undoubtedly endured prior to the trial. But that pales in comparison to the shameful abuse you inflicted upon each of those girls.”
The sentence, totaling 11 years, was delivered as Boyle, who was visibly breathing heavily and clutching the dock railing, was led away to the cells. There were audible outbursts from some members of the public gallery as the sentencing was announced.
