PERTHSHIRE MAN CONVICTED OF HISTORIC TEENAGE SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN SPAIN AND DUNDEE
A Tayside man faces jail for a series of historic sex attacks on teenage boys.Graeme Bennett attacked his two victims on multiple occasions between 2010 and 2016 at various locations in Tayside as well as at a hotel and restaurant in Spain.
A jury at the High Court in Dundee found Bennett, of Perth Road, Bankfoot, guilty of indecently assaulting his first victim, a 14-year-old male, in 2010.
Bennett, 35, has been remanded in custody ahead of sentencing scheduled for next month.
The assaults on the teenager occurred in the Kirkton area of Dundee and at a hotel in Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol between March 1 and November 30, 2010.
Bennett was convicted of indecently touching his victim and performing a sex act in his presence.
On some occasions, the boy was sleeping and unable to give consent.
He was also found guilty of sexually assaulting the same victim between December 1, 2010, and October 31, 2016, at the same hotel in Spain and addresses in Dundee, Perth, and Errol.
The court also convicted him of attempting to rape the boy.
Second victim A guilty verdict was returned on charges of Bennett sexually assaulting a second victim, aged between 14 and 16, at a residence in Kirkton, the same Spanish hotel, and a cafe in Fuengirola.
Bennett was found guilty of indecently touching the second victim, with two instances occurring while the victim was sleeping.
Bennett denied all allegations during his trial, prosecuted by Eilidh Robertson for the Crown.
Sentencing has been deferred until next month for social work reports, and defence counsel Gary Allan QC chose to reserve mitigation until then.
Judge Lord Arthurson remanded Bennett in custody pending sentencing.
